Malcolm Tulloch is a graduate of the London School of Economics with several degrees including a B.Sc in Economics where he studied Karl Popper’s scientific method, various schools of economic thought and political and economic history. In addition, Malcolm has a D Law Degree and a M.Sc in International Finance. Malcolm also attended Harvard University for a graduate program in Literature. This followed a three-year period in intelligence serving with British NATO forces in Berlin.
After completing his M.Sc. in International Finance at LSE, he joined the Citibank Trading Group in London ranked as #1 in the world run by the iconoclastic Francesco Redi. Malcolm specialized in trading foreign exchange and bond markets before setting up the precious metals trading desk.
After successfully working with Mr. Redi at Citibank, Malcolm capitalized on his intelligence training (at the time, there were no strategists in financial firms). Malcolm set up Tulloch Research Limited (TRL) in 1985 as the first hedge fund advisory firm. Citibank became his first client other clients including IFM Trading Ltd. (London’s first hedge fund) and numerous international, blue chip, private family offices.
Malcolm is an avid runner and swimmer and a member of The New York Athletic Club. He also pursues his intellectual interests by practicing literary detection and as a member of The New York Academy of Sciences. Malcolm lives on Central Park West in NYC with his family.
